# Mise 0.4.0

Search everything, back it all up, see the repo on the station, and scroll smoothly on Linux. Plus one-time codes in the
lockbox, a real money view, a smarter note editor, wallpaper packs, tray shortcuts, keyboard navigation and updates that
install themselves.

## New

- **Full-text search** from Ctrl K: note bodies, sticky text, project briefs, subscription notes and Claude Code
  transcripts, with the matching sentence shown under each hit. Lockbox entries are never indexed.
- **Backup & restore**: export the whole database to one file (optionally sealed with a password), restore from one, and
  a **sync folder** that keeps timestamped copies on every change, hourly or daily, pruned to the count you choose.
  Lockbox entries stay encrypted inside a backup either way.
- **Auto-update**: Mise checks quietly on launch and every six hours, downloads only when you say so, and restarts into
  the new version. Turn it off in Settings → About.
- **Git at a glance** on the project station: branch, changed files, ahead/behind, last commit (click to copy the
  hash) and the remote, refreshed while you look.
- **Notes & stickies on the station**: everything linked to the project, with "New note here" / "New sticky here".
- **Pick up where you left off** from the tray: the last three Claude Code sessions, each opening a terminal with
  Claude resuming that session. Also "New sticky note" in the tray.
- **One-time codes** in the lockbox: paste an `otpauth://` link or a secret, get a rolling code with a countdown ring;
  copy it from the quick-access popup too. Codes are computed inside the lockbox; the seed never leaves it.
- **Bitwarden and 1Password imports** (Bitwarden JSON and CSV, 1Password 1PUX and CSV), alongside the browser CSVs.
- **Money view** for subscriptions: monthly and yearly totals in your currency, a per-currency breakdown with
  editable exchange rates, a twelve-month strip of what's due, a renewal calendar for the next sixty days, and a
  "cancel by" date with a reminder on Today.
- **Note editor**: slash commands (`/date`, `/todo`, `/table`, `/link`…), `[[wiki links]]` to notes, projects, folders
  and subscriptions that render as chips and create real links, and a "Mentioned in" panel of backlinks.
- **Wallpaper packs**: eight drawn backgrounds for the glass surfaces (linen, terrazzo, marble, copper pans, flour
  dust, tiles, midnight kitchen, morning light) and a wallpaper of the day.
- **Keyboard everywhere**: `j`/`k` through any list, Enter to open, `e` to edit, `g` then a letter to jump between
  views, and `?` for the cheat-sheet.

## Changed

- **Rendering: Fast** (Settings → Glass): drops the blur behind panels, the acrylic grain and the aurora's drift while
  keeping the glass tint. On by default on Linux, where WebKitGTK paints blur on the CPU and scrolling under glass
  stuttered. Quality brings the blur back.
- Settings → Data now points at the Backup section instead of saving a bare `.db` copy.

## Fixed

- When another program already held one of Mise's global shortcuts, no setting could be saved at all and the first-run
  setup started over every time it finished. Shortcuts are now only re-registered when they change.

## Install

| System | Command |
|---|---|
| Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives | `sudo apt install ./mise-desktop_0.4.0_amd64.deb` |
| Fedora, openSUSE, RHEL | `sudo dnf install ./mise-desktop-0.4.0-1.x86_64.rpm` |
| Any 64-bit Linux | `chmod +x mise-desktop_0.4.0_amd64.AppImage && ./mise-desktop_0.4.0_amd64.AppImage` |
| Arch and derivatives | `cd packaging/arch/mise-desktop-bin && makepkg -si` |
| Windows 10 and 11 | run `Mise_0.4.0_x64-setup.exe` (per-user install, no admin needed) |

Verify downloads with `sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing`. From this version on, the AppImage and the Windows
installer are signed for the in-app updater (`.sig` files alongside).

The Windows installer is unsigned for SmartScreen (it may ask you to confirm) and was cross-compiled on Linux.
